Solid Phase Extraction (SPE)
New SPE Product Portfolio
Si-Novation has extensive market experience in the design, development, manufacture and use of Functionalised Silica Materials for a wide range of Product Purification and Separation applications.
Utilising this experience and capability Si-Novation is introducing a new SPE Product Portfolio which includes both Standard Products at the required specifications and purity as well as a range of Novel Products.
New SPE Products comprise:
-
A more diverse range of non-polar hydrocarbon groups to enhance selectivity and isolation;
-
New polar groups for specific binding to targets or impurities;
-
Functionality for selective binding to specific metals and metal complexes;
-
Products for separating organic impurities;
-
Combination of Standard and New SPE Products in the same cartridge for improved separation.
Ordering Information
Si-Novation SPE Products have a mean particle size of 45 µm with mean pore diameters of 60 Å, other pore diameters are available, contact us to discuss. The SPE Products are available as endcapped or non‑endcapped irregular silica.
Specific silica requirements can be easily managed, contact us at contact@si-novation.com to discuss.
Products are available either as loose powder or pre-packed in the typical range of cartridge volumes.

Non-Polar SPE Products
Si-Novation Non-Polar SPE Products include Standard and New Non-Polar Functional Groups covalently attached to the silica surface. This range of Standard and New Products enables greater selectivity via a designed hydrocarbon structure and with different hydrophobic-hydrophilic balances. Samples are available for testing as endcapped (E) and non‑endcapped (NE).
The SPE Products have a mean particle size of 45 µm with a surface area of 500 m /g (irregular shaped silica). Variations in carbon % and functional group loading can be provided as can specific mean particle/pore size combination.

Polar and Ion Exchange SPE Products
Si-Novation SPE Product Portfolio also includes a range of Standard and New Polar Functional Groups attached to the silica surface. Endcapped and non-endcapped SPE Products are available with mean pore size distribution options. This range of Standard and New Polar and Ion Exchange SPE Products enables greater selectivity to be achieved for the desired target via extraction, isolation, purification and concentration of ionisable or polar compounds from both polar and non-polar sample matrices.
For example, the silica phosphonic acid (PA) can retain and separate different types of amine and N containing aromatic compounds without affecting acid sensitive protecting groups.
New SPE Products to remove unwanted metals and organic impurities are also introduced.
The SPE Products have a mean particle size of 45 µm with a surface area of 500 m /g (irregular shaped silica) and are available as endcapped (E) and non-endcapped (NE). Variations in carbon and functional group loading can be provided as can specific mean particle/pore size combination.
